What it's all about
From the world's rubbish dumps to the circular economy: urban bikes made from recycled plastic
RCYL develops innovative city bikes that consist of more than 90% plastic - from the frame to the fork to the cranks and pedals. The bikes are robust, virtually maintenance-free and ideal as everyday urban and company bikes.
A large proportion of the raw materials used comes from recycled plastic waste, currently mainly from discarded fishing nets. In future, plastic waste is to be recycled on site around the world and processed into RCYL bikes. Our goal is a sustainable circular economy in which used plastic is turned into a valuable raw material.
