Component Update – RCYL with New Grips and Seatpost

The RCYL bike continues to evolve behind the scenes. At Eurobike, we unveiled the latest prototype of our plastic bicycle: the RCYL E-Bike!

Display ...

... and the integrated motor of the E-bike prototype

The offer for a test ride was very well received.

But not every update is immediately noticeable. Admittedly, you can’t see the E-bike’s motor either. The new provisional chainstay and the display are probably the most eye-catching changes this time around. However, if you take a closer look, you’ll spot some differences compared to earlier prototypes.

Product Manager Sven explains the updates.

One of the key areas where you’ll literally get your hands on an upgrade is at one of the bike’s main touchpoints: the grips and brake levers. Together with our partner Westphal, we’ve completely redesigned them. They’re now manufactured using an injection molding process, offering an impressive tactile feel. Maximum grip for full control in city traffic!

Grips and brake levers have been newly developed ...

... just like the seatpost with integrated quick-release mechanism.

The next update is a true standout feature: the innovative seatpost now comes with a quick-release clamp that, apart from a small spring, is made entirely of plastic. This allows you to adjust the saddle height in no time—across 20 positions—for riders between 1.65 m and 1.90 m tall.

Your bike is Ready for Sale! So head over to the order page, configure your personal RCYL, and join us in making history—with a one-of-a-kind bike that was once plastic waste. Together, we’re making a powerful statement for sustainability!
