igus:bike worldtour highlight with RCYL – China
At 10 o’clock in the morning, in the warm applause of the employees, James Miao, General Manager of igus China, excitedly took the eco-friendly bicycle igusbike from the hands of Product Manager John Ji. Starting from the Fengxian factory, James embarked on a journey of tracing the origin along Huangpu River.
As the last tributary of the Changjiang River before it flows into the sea, Huangpu River is not only the mother river of Shanghai, but also a miniature of water environment treatment of China. From the launch of the river regulation works in 1988, to the establishment of the ecology first principle in 2002, and then to the inclusion of Huangpu River in the national ecological strategy under Changjiang River Protection Law in 2018, this ecological defense war shows a unique path of oriental civilization in ecological governance – taking history as a mirror and science and technology as the sword, achieving sustainable development through the resonance of tradition and modernity.
Meanwhile, the growth of igus China also relies on the nourishment of Huangpu River, whether igus China is in No.1 Huaihai Middle Road among numerous high buildings or in No. 46 factory building in Waigaoqiao Bonded Area. Following the footsteps of sustainable development of Shanghai, igus China has also grown up and flourished step by step for 25 years till now.
On the banks of Huangpu River, the towering financial center Lujiazui and the Shanghai-style buildings in Puxi face each other across the river, forming a self-contained but complementary style. They have witnessed the development of Shanghai together and also accompanied the growth of igus China.
During the journey, we met many people who were deeply interested in the RCYL bike. Some of them asked about product details, while others tried riding it. We gained a lot of joy and valuable suggestions along the way.
