igus:bike worldtour avec RCYL – Pologne

There’s no need to rush in Gdańsk. Here, everything moves at its own pace – waves, thoughts, stories. And when you traverse the city on an igus:bike, you feel that freedom is within your reach. Some cities are simply loved. Gdańsk – respected. For its courage, for its history, for its constant balance between emotion and delight. A ride on an igus:bike through this city is more than just a city trip.

An encounter with the past that constantly breathes modernity.

Our cycling trip through Gdańsk began with a peaceful ride along the Nowa Motława River. The view of the water and the townhouses reflecting in it created a unique atmosphere, perfect for starting the day. Riding down the historic Stągiewna and Motławska streets, we could feel the spirit of old Gdańsk. The narrow lanes with their historic buildings carried the former Hanseatic character of the city.

A marina full of innovations from igus

The next stop was the marina, full of elegant yachts. Here, you can spot modern technical solutions – some of the yachts use products from igus, which gives them an innovative touch.

Continuing along Szafarnia and Ołowianka streets, we reached the museum ship Sołdek, the first post-war bulk carrier built in Poland. It is an important branch of the National Maritime Museum, reminding visitors of the city’s maritime heritage. Passing the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, we stopped for a moment at Lech Wałęsa Square. This symbolic place commemorates one of the most renowned citizens of Gdańsk.

Next, we saw Amber Sky – the Ferris wheel offering a breathtaking view of the city’s panorama. From this spot, you can also clearly see the historic Mariacka Street, famous for its characteristic steps and numerous amber galleries.

Our next stop was the monumental Green Gate, through which we entered Długi Targ. This is the city’s representative area, full of life, cafés, and beautiful townhouses.

We ended our trip at the famous Neptune’s Fountain, the symbol of Gdańsk and one of its most photographed landmarks. It was a perfect finale to the route, reminding us of the city’s maritime character.

A bike tour around Gdańsk is a great way to discover the city’s charm – from the historic Main Town, through the picturesque Motława waterfront, all the way to the seaside paths leading to the beaches. The route combines history, culture, and relaxation with active outdoor recreation, as experienced by our igus:bike world tour team.
